On July 22, 2025, authoritative U.S. beauty media NewBeauty announced the release of the report "The State of Aesthetics: By the Numbers Summer 2025". This data-driven special publication is supported by its beauty insight platform BeautyEngine, and presents the latest changes in decision-making behavior of medical beauty consumers through a mobile first user survey system.
NewBeauty was founded in 2005 and is a multimedia platform under MJH Life Sciences, dedicated to providing science based beauty news and industry trend content. Its audience is high-net-worth female consumers, and it is known for its rigorous editorial standards and industry depth. BeautyEngine, as its data insights department, focuses on tracking user behavior and market changes in the beauty industry.
This survey is aimed at the highly engaged aesthetic audience of NewBeauty, focusing on key milestones in the treatment journey, covering multiple dimensions such as project preferences, budget allocation, and outcome expectations. According to BeautyEngine data, consumers are more rational in their medical beauty spending and tend to prefer projects with clear long-term effects rather than short-term trends.
1. GLP-1 drug users are concerned about the aging issues caused by weight loss: Among GLP-1 (Glucagon like Peptide-1) drug users surveyed, 66% reported a weight loss of over 20 pounds. The main concerns include skin sagging (50%), facial aging (44%), loss of facial volume (34%), and sparse hair (50.5%).
2. Natural effects become the main choice: 69.3% of respondents stated that "natural effects" are the most important factor when choosing neurotoxin injections. Nearly 70% of respondents are more likely to accept fillers presented as "facial balance" rather than "enhancement".
3. The demand for regenerative therapies continues to rise: 86% expressed interest in regenerative projects, with collagen stimulants (65.3%) and micro-needling therapy (62.4%) being their preferred options.
4. Medical beauty expenses are prioritized over multiple lifestyle expenses: To ensure the continuity of beauty plans, 54% of respondents choose to reduce dining out expenses, 43% reduce clothing expenses, and 42% reduce nail art expenses. In contrast, only 6% stated that they would reduce spending on skincare products, and only 24% would decrease aesthetic spending.
